Publication ceremony of “Ashwasan III”,
(Proceeding & collection of research papers presented in the ‘ Third International Conference Ayurved for Cancer ’) was organized at Durbar Hall, Haffkine Institute for Training, Research & Testing, Parel on 10th February, 2008.
Program was started with Dhanwantari Poojan & Deep Prajwalan by Dr. S. K. Shrivastav, Head of the Department- Radiation Oncology at Tata Memorial Hospital. Dr. S. P. Sardeshmukh – Director of Ayurved Hospital Research & Development delivered welcome speech & paid obeisance to revered Parampoojya Sardeshmukh Maharaj.
Dr. Sukumar Sardeshmukh briefed the audience about the foundation, expansion of Bharatiya Sanskriti Darshan Trust & its future projects.
Prof. Dr. S. P. Sardeshmukh, welcomed the delegates He then explained the background of various healthcare projects undertaken by Bharatiya Sanskriti Darshan Trust.
Dr. Arvind Kulkarni, Director of Radiation Oncology at Lady Ratan Tata Medical Centre & co-ordinator of Caner Research Project of Bharatiya Sanskriti Darshan Trust explained that ‘Cancer Research Project’ was established in the year 1994 under the guidance of revered Parampoojya Sardeshmukh Maharaj. The aim of the project is to tackle the Cancer menace at Pathological, Physiological & Psychological levels for better treatment results & benefit of mankind.
‘Ashwasan III’, collection of research papers presented in the ‘Third International Conference on Ayurved for Cancer’ was inaugurated by Chief Guest, Dr. S. K. Shrivastava.
‘Cancer – Ayurved’ revised second edition was also inaugurated by renowned advocate & one of our trustees, Shri. C. R. Dalvi.
The Chief Guest of the function, Dr. S. K. Shrivastava - Head of Radiation Oncology Department, Tata memorial Hospital, highlighted the alarming rise in Cancer incidence in India & the need of a multidisciplinary scientific approach in the field of Cancer management.
Dr. M. E. Yeolekar , Director of Medical Education & Health, Seth G. S. Medical College & K. E. M. Hospital stressed the need to inculcate the virtues of selflessness, benevolence & philanthropy in all research workers.
Dr. Mehul Bhansali, well known onco surgeon at Jaslok Hospital, Dr. Narendra Bhatt, Dr. Prabhakar Sandu, Dr. H. B. Singh, Dr. Mr. & Mrs. Nagral also graced the occasion.
The next session began with paper presentation. Dr. Vineeta Deshmukh, head of Cancer research Project presented a scientific paper “‘Management of Radiotherapy side effects with Ananta Kalpa”. After this presentation, Dr. Sameer Gore spoke about the approach of Ayurved about Cancer. Dr. Ranjeet Nimbalkar, gave the presentation titled ‘Management of Chemotherapy side effects with Ananta Kalpa’. Organwise case Report Presentation was done by Dr. Shailesh Deshpande, Dr. Ranjeet Nimbalkar, Dr. Vasanti Godse, Dr. Shweta Gujar and Dr. Sumant Kharanavis.
Renowned personalities in Allopathy & Ayurved, Well wishers of the trust were felicitated by Dr. Arvind Kulkarni. The program ended with the concluding note by Dr. S. P. Sardeshmukh & Pasaydan sung by Ms. Meghana Vaidya.
Exhibition on “Cancer & Ayurved” was also held on this occasion. Books published by the Trust & medicines of the Bharatiya Sanskriti Darshan Trust’s Atharva Ayurved Pharmaceuticals were available on that day.
