Vasantik
Vaman Shibir
The main aim
of Ayurved is to cure the disease and maintain the health of the
healthy. A healthy person has balanced Tridoshas, Saptadhatus, and
a timely excretion. This balance within the body helps to maintain
not only a good health but also to have a peaceful mind. With the
change of the Rutus, there is a natural elevation in the state of
the doshas. These need to be expelled from the body to maintain
a healthy condition. Panchakarma procedures are followed for this
purpose. Vamana is one such procedure. It helps to excrete the elevated
Kapha dosha.
Ayurved Hospital
and Research Center, Charak Vidhaga, at Kesanand Pthat, Wagholi
conducted by the Bharatiya Sanskriti Darshan Trust, had organised
a Vasantik Vaman Shibir, between the 20/03/04 to 26/04/04. Although
this is a rural area, nine patients registered for the camp. The
growing awareness towards Ayurved is very encouraging. Dr.S.P.Sardeshmukh,
Director of the Bharatiya Sanskriti Darshan Trust, inaugurated the
camp.
The distribution

Brahmacharya
(Celibacy) - Part 4
As
we carefully observe, Ayurved has given 'Brahmacharya' a deeper
and much more fuller meaning. It restricts one from improper temptions,
which can distract a person from his duties during the four phases
of life.
During
Brahmacharyashram, this being a student life, one has to totally
abstain from all temptiations. Gruhasthashram, is the phase where
the state of Brahmacharya is maintained, in another aspect. A person
is at his/her prime age. The physical desires are high. Here the
definition allows a physical relation with their spouse, keeping
abstinence from other females.
In
the next issue, we shall have a look at the various rules laid down,
which need to be followed during this phase.
Along
with these, we shall review the current scenario, whereby we can
appreciate the importance of these rules.
